Alyssa Wiedman

Alyssa Wiedman was born and raised in Queens, New York. She began her dancing career at four years old at Dance Creations under the direction of Laurie Oddi. Through her years at Dance Creations, Alyssa studied tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, modern and hip-hop. At the age of fourteen Alyssa began studying Latin ballroom dancing under the direction of Michael Pagan and Maria Torres. She traveled with Maria Torres’ Emerging Artist Company to Manchester England in 2008. Alyssa is currently earning her BFA in dance performance at Adelphi University in Garden City, New York. At Adelphi, she has performed works by Christopher Flemming, Orion Duckstein, Jacques Cesbron, Martha Graham and Amy Marshall. Alyssa has competed and won first place in five out of six categories in Latin Ballroom in the Empire State Ballroom competition and MIT ballroom competition under the direction of Louka Apostolov. Alyssa joined the Amy Marshall Dance Company in 2013.
