Vasen (2001) 18 minutes

Vasen, meaning “spirit,” begins with one appointed a leader.
She manipulates and guides three women through a series of
rituals to the modern sounds of Nordic music. They experience
joyfulness, loss, antagonism, and are finally liberated by the
camaraderie they discover.

Askew (2000) 10 minutes

Commissioned by Carver Performing Arts High School in Towson, MD,
this piece explores the dynamics of group relationships in social situations
as six dancers split into two groups confronting one another as each vies to
proves his loyalty and honor.  Throughout the dance people shift from one
side to the other, or one against all or two against each other, which so often
occurs in everyday life.
